Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers to the most common questions about translation services in Egypt and the UAE.
General — Company & Services
What services does TransHome offer?▾
TransHome offers translation (including certified and legal translation), interpretation, website and software or app localization, multimedia services such as dubbing and subtitling, and multicultural marketing. It has offices in Dubai and Giza, Egypt. Share your documents, languages and deadline through the free quote form and the team will advise the right service.
What is the difference between translation and localization?▾
Translation converts text from one language to another. Localization goes further and adapts content, layout, formats and cultural references for a specific market, such as right-to-left layouts, dates, currency and tone for Arabic readers. Websites, apps, marketing and video usually need localization, while contracts and certificates usually need accurate translation.
When do I need a professional translator instead of an online tool?▾
Use a professional translator when the text will be submitted to an authority, signed, published or relied on commercially, such as contracts, certificates, court papers, medical content and marketing. Online tools can help you grasp the gist but cannot certify accuracy or take responsibility. For official use, ask the receiving authority whether certification is required.
What is the difference between certified and standard translation?▾
A certified translation carries the translator's or agency's signed statement, stamp and credentials so an authority can accept it as official. A standard translation is for general use and carries no such certification. Which one you need depends on the receiving court, ministry, embassy or university, so check their requirements before ordering.
How do I choose a translation company in the UAE or Egypt?▾
Check five things: proof of licence or certification for your language pair, a documented quality process with a second reviewer, how confidentiality is handled, a written quote stating price basis and deadline, and experience with your type of document. Ask the receiving authority what it accepts, then ask the company to confirm in writing.
Certified Translation — Egypt
What is a certified translation in Egypt, and who accepts it?▾
A certified translation is prepared by a registered translator or office and issued with a signed declaration and official stamp, so courts, embassies, ministries and universities can rely on it. Which body accepts it, and whether notarization or Ministry of Foreign Affairs legalization is also required, depends on the destination authority.
Where can I get a certified translation in Giza (Dokki or Mohandessin)?▾
TransHome's Egypt office is in Giza, in the Mohandessin and Dokki area — 35 Mohi El-Din Abu El-Ezz Street. The contact page welcomes walk-ins, and you can also request a quote online or call the Egypt office. Bring the original document and tell us which authority will receive the translation.
Is TransHome's certified translation accepted by embassies in Cairo?▾
Each embassy sets its own rules, so acceptance is decided by the embassy. TransHome prepares certified translations with a translator declaration and stamp for embassy submissions. Before ordering, check the embassy's translation requirements and send them to us.
How do I get a birth certificate translated for an embassy in Egypt?▾
Typical steps are: provide the original or a certified copy, receive a certified translation, then notarize it and obtain Ministry of Foreign Affairs legalization if the destination requires it. Requirements vary by country and embassy. TransHome coordinates these steps — contact us with the document and destination country.
Can I translate a power of attorney in Egypt for use abroad?▾
Yes. TransHome translates general, special and commercial powers of attorney. For use outside Egypt, notarization and Ministry of Foreign Affairs legalization or apostille are usually required by the destination. Send the document and the destination country for a quote and full process guide.
What translation do I need for a visa or university application abroad, such as WES, IRCC or Schengen?▾
Each body sets its own rules, but many ask for a certified translation with a translator declaration for civil, academic and employment documents. Check the current requirements of WES, IRCC, the embassy or the university, then send them to us. TransHome provides translation with the required declaration.
Do you translate commercial registers and company documents in Egypt?▾
Yes. TransHome translates commercial registers, articles of incorporation, board resolutions and shareholder agreements for company formation, due diligence and investment filings in Egypt. Send the document and the receiving authority to confirm the certification needed.
Business, Technical & Financial Translation
What business and corporate documents can TransHome translate?▾
TransHome translates business proposals, contracts, reports, marketing material, academic and technical documents, and clinical trial documents across industries, with linguists matched to the subject. Specific formats and volumes can be discussed on the quote form.
Does TransHome translate patents?▾
Yes. TransHome translates patent claims, applications, renewals, validations and patent dispute documents, assigned to translators with the relevant technical and legal background and handled confidentially. Tell us the field (for example medical, chemical or mechanical) and the filing office so the right translator is assigned.
Can TransHome translate AutoCAD drawings and keep the layout?▾
Yes. TransHome translates AutoCAD files: text is extracted, translated by a subject specialist and placed back into the original drawing format by the desktop publishing team. Share the drawing file and target language to get a quote.
What is Arabization and when do I need it?▾
Arabization adapts content into natural Arabic that reflects local usage, tone and culture instead of a word-for-word rendering. It suits software, websites, marketing and corporate content aimed at Arabic-speaking customers. TransHome lists Arabization within its translation services.
Interpretation
What types of interpretation does TransHome offer?▾
TransHome offers simultaneous, consecutive, whisper, escort and conference interpretation, plus over-the-phone and video remote interpretation. Tell us the event type, languages, date and location, and we will recommend the right format.
What is the difference between simultaneous and consecutive interpretation?▾
In simultaneous interpretation the interpreter speaks in real time from a booth while the audience listens through headsets, which suits conferences. In consecutive interpretation the speaker pauses and the interpreter renders each segment afterwards, which suits meetings, negotiations and small events.
Does TransHome provide interpretation equipment?▾
TransHome supplies interpretation booths, headsets, microphones, transmitters and technical support, including installation, testing and on-site coordination. Contact us with your event details for availability and a quote.
Can you provide remote simultaneous interpretation on Zoom or Teams?▾
Yes. TransHome offers remote simultaneous interpretation through Zoom, Microsoft Teams and dedicated platforms for virtual and hybrid events. Share the platform, languages, date and expected attendance to receive a quote.
Pricing, Turnaround & Delivery
How much does certified translation cost?▾
The price depends on the language pair, document type, length and urgency, and is usually set per page for short standard documents and per word for longer texts. Request a free, no-obligation quote with your document and deadline.
Is translation priced per page or per word?▾
Standard documents such as certificates and single-page contracts are typically priced per page, while longer legal and business documents are priced per word. Final pricing also reflects language pair and urgency. Contact us for a fixed-price quote.
How do I get a free quote from TransHome?▾
Fill in the free quote form with your contact details, the source and target languages, the service you need and a brief description, or call or message the office. The quote carries no obligation and we respond within one hour.
What payment methods does TransHome accept?▾
TransHome accepts cash, Visa card, Instapay and bank transfer. Payment terms are confirmed when you approve the quote. Corporate invoicing is available for business clients.
How long does certified translation take?▾
Most legal documents take one to two business days, with same-day and express service available for urgent deadlines. Timing depends on length, language pair and any certification steps such as notarization or legalization, which add time.
Do you offer same-day or urgent translation?▾
Yes. Express and same-day translation is available. Send the document and deadline early so the team can confirm availability and the applicable urgency rate.
How long does a 10-page document take to translate?▾
A professional translator handles approximately 2,000 to 3,000 words per day, so a 10-page document typically takes two to three business days. Rush options are available — contact us with your deadline.
How will I receive my translation: PDF, printed copy or courier?▾
TransHome delivers translations as a stamped hard copy for collection or courier, and as a digital soft copy (PDF) by email. Some authorities require a stamped original, so tell us your preferred delivery method and the receiving authority with your request.
Quality, Confidentiality & ISO
How does TransHome ensure translation quality?▾
TransHome uses a two-step process: a subject-specialist translator handles the text and a second linguist proofreads it. Full-time quality managers, specialist glossaries and translation memory support consistency across projects.
Is TransHome ISO certified?▾
Yes. TransHome holds ISO 17100:2015 (Certificate No. TS-2509014) for translation services and ISO 9001:2015 (Certificate No. 0140925A) for quality management, both issued by oSs Middle East Certification and valid until 1 September 2027. ISO 17100 sets requirements for qualified translators and mandatory revision by a second person.
Are my documents kept confidential?▾
TransHome handles all projects — including patents and legal documents — with complete confidentiality. If your documents are particularly sensitive, ask for a signed non-disclosure agreement before sending them.
Does TransHome use machine translation or AI for my documents?▾
Certified legal translations are handled by human legal translators and reviewed by a second linguist. Machine translation is not used for certified legal work. For other services, any use of machine translation with human post-editing is disclosed in advance.
What if I need a correction or revision to my translation?▾
Tell the team what needs changing and why — for example a name spelling that must match a passport. Supplying official spellings and document copies with your original request helps avoid the need for revisions.
What happens if an authority rejects my translation?▾
Send TransHome the authority's reason for rejection and the document. The team will compare it with the authority's requirement and advise on the next step. Checking the authority's requirements before ordering reduces this risk.
